A QR Code is an image
with funny black square pixels that you can scan with a mobile phone QR reader to see the hidden content behind the code. QR technology is considered as the most awesome technology it has swept across Japan, but produced little to no success anywhere else for many years. Everything is changing and there are a lot of useful scenarios of how to use a QR Code in everyday life or business. Watch this video.
QR Code generator
It all begun back in summer 2010 when we had started developing an online survey service Good Survey (currently in final testing stage) and down the development road we found that the service would be essential for us to push mobile surveys and on the back of this we found QR Codes so much fun that on September 15, 2010 we launched first version of our free online QR Code generator. Since launching this QR Code generator we got very positive feedback from the web community, people, and businesses. After the launch we added many new features and improvements.
We have listened to users feedback (asking for new features) and we realize that our initial design had reached its limits. We decided that redesigning whole website was essential, we needed a better and more scalable website and at the same time we still wanted to stay close to the old concept “Life below 600px“. Our aim with the new design was to improve online experience, make clear website navigation and stay simple and fast while raising overall quality.
New feature: QR Code tracking
Many extra features were added since the launch in autumn 2010 and finally “you asked that” we implement a tracking feature inside this QR Code service. Today, we’re happy to see that people are creating more and more 2D codes for a variety of purpose. In USA they recently started incorporating QR codes in everyday life services like airline boarding.

QR Code tracking is a powerful online tool to track QR Codes scans for all QR based marketing campaigns. You can track a number of scans by date, location, device manufacturer and device model after scanning a code. You can always view created QR Codes from your account or edit your data.
Other major new features on redesigned QR Code web site
- Automatic link shorting with goo.by
- Replaced VCARD with MECARD as it is more compact
- New chart for usage statistics
- QR Code Twitter feed
- Updated API version with backward compatibility
- And of course we kept QR codes in vector formats such as SVG, EPS, XAML,…
We very much appreciate your support, comments and feedback so far and we want to give you a sneak preview what is coming next. We are in the final stage of testing WP7 app for QR Code tracking.

People are sharing content on social networks and we are very keen to help them do so. While we have been working on digital products, we found that making a URL shortener service would be very helpful and today we are pleased to announce new URL shortener http://goo.by service. Currently goo.by supports shortening multiple links and direct posting to Twitter.
With open API we want to address developers and sites to provide short URLs for their users and we’d love to see you hooking up to API. Take a look at the API documentaton it is easy to use. We built this service with a careful approach and at the backend goo.by URL shortener is powered by MongoDB: a fast, flexible, open source, document-oriented database.
Some of you might want to know about usage of .by domain for this service. It is native a domain of Belarus and as it is hard to find cool domain these days .by domain suits us perfectly.

We’re excited about the launch and we’d love to see your feedback. What you ♥ like/dislike or would love to see in next version. Create short links with http://goo.by and finally help us share this post on social networks like Twitter and Facebook.

Three of our logos: Avivo, Superia and Bella Sicilia have been published in the latest release of the LogoLounge book series. We are passionate about designing Identities and that’s why we are very proud to be selected among “2,000 international Identities by Leading Designers” of LogoLounge 6 book published by Rockport publishing house.

The Avivo Identity received huge blog coverage among the design community from September 2009. Since then it has been mentioned on web sites like: abduzeedo.com, bestdesignoptions.com, logochief.com (Logo of the Day).

Superia and Bella Sicilia are presented on the same page.
Behind the scenes
Avivo was established in spring 2009 as an independent digital production studio. From the very beginning Avivo started to work with the current Avivo Art Director Denis Olenik from Belarus. Process, experience and know-how lead us beyond first ideas to final solutions for Avivo identity. We wanted the Avivo logo to embrace a unique style that connects with the digital world. The Superia identity was made for our Digital Signage Software product. Logo triangle shapes are so scalable that we have used them in many digital scenarios through standalone Superia multimedia distribution software.
Today Avivo create modern corporate Identities, Brand design concepts and deliver superb service in the form of touch, mobile, web and custom made solutions for LOB (line of business) that enhance user digital experience. Through design and branding processes we help our clients to move from the static world into the digital world of interaction. Ultimately we deliver engaging software and custom made applications to our clients that build brand loyalty and helps them to innovate. We are a multinational team that lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
